About Us

Mayfield Manufacturing is a family run building company with more than 100 years of experience to draw upon. Established in 1985 by Malcolm Hickson the company has gone from strength to strength using the families knowledge of all building works to make sure every customer is completely satisfied with the finished work. It doesn’t matter how large, or small that project is, every customer gets their best. The company enjoys the patronage of many repeat customers, some have been clients since the beginning

In the 1990’s Malcolm felt that there had to be a better, simpler, more cost effective solution to meeting ‘Water Byelaw 58’ Malcolm tried to find a product which would allow easy access to pipework. When he couldn’t find it, he designed his own – ALUDUCT.

And just a few years later Malcolm came up with ALUDRAIN the perfect solution to the requirement for low-level threshold drainage. Both Aludrain and Aluduct have been specified by architects, developers and recommended by many Councils and local Water Authorities ever since.

Clients include: Lovell, George Wimpey, Persimmon Homes, Allison Homes, Kier Partnership Homes, Mowlem plc, R G Carter, Jewson’s, Grafton’s, plus many other builders and Housing Associations.
Malcolm has been joined by son James and daughter Jill in the business and together they have built a strong and loyal client base; one that recognises them as builders of high quality work, traditional values a sense of fairness and problem solvers.

Nowadays Mayfield carry out new house builds, house, residential/commercial/industrial renovations, extensions, conservatories, UPVC windows & doors (FENSA registered), groundwork and they also can provide project management.
